Symantec Antivirus Corporate has a name change
The old familiar Symantec corporate antivirus is now End-Point Compliance. We have deployed and upgraded existing clients to this new version. Some of the pitfalls we are finding are that servers require 2GB of RAM to run it in addition to existing RAM. This application also has the capability to block spyware and act as a firewall on the workstations. This requires a large amount of memory usage on the clients that may slow down systems considerably.

Astaro firewall's on version 7.405

The brand new Astaro Security Gateway V7.5 will be generally available starting October 1st. The soft-release will be available on our FTP-servers for manual download starting September 17th. It comes with more than 50 new features and improvements that are aimed at enhancing performance and usability, including:

• Upgraded Intrusion Protection Engine to increase performance when deploying multi-core CPUs. Moreover, new sophisticated rules were implemented to extend the detection capabilities for the newest exploits.
• Real-time bandwidth monitoring instantly gives a detailed overview over the amounts of bandwidth utilized across all current connections.
• Transparent HTTP proxy now allows authentication of guest users across facilities such as stadiums, hotels or convention centers on a "captive portal" without changing browser settings.
